Email Link Without Warning

When creating a link to an email address, do you warn the person it will open up their email client? When creating a direct email hyperlink from an email address, the default action will launch their email client like Outlook or Apple Mail. Many users are expecting the link to stay within the browser and open a contact us form so warning them is polite. It can be a simple message that can be next to the link to modal window after they click on the link.
