The other day, I logged in to Evernote to take notes on my laptop, and an overlay immediately took over the screen to announce new features. Normally, when I am in a hurry, I dismiss these kinds of messages without a second thought. This time, I decided to read what was new. After the second feature, however, I realized I needed to move on, but there was no close button. From both a usability and accessibility standpoint, there should always be a clear and easy way for a user to exit. Instead, the system forced me to click through every feature before presenting a way out.
